At Iloranta, great tasty food has long traditions. We are still using recipes from the old days. In Iloranta, the food is always made with love!
New dishes are continually developed, but we still rely on many of great-grandmother Elin’s delicious recipes.
The Iloranta food philoshophy
We want to serve you authentic and uncomplicated Finnish food, locally produced at Hauho. The food at Iloranta’s tables is made with local ingredients, straight from the lakes, fields and forests of Häme. It is home-made bread and smoked fish, organic potatoes, roasts, forests mushrooms, vegetables of the season and farm cheese with our own berry jam.
Some of the fish favourites on our menu include canned roach made in our own kitchen, fried pike-perch, smoked pike terrine and honey smoked salmon. Our delicious traditional cheeses are seasoned with mint, lingonberry and nuts.
We are proud of being able to tell them the exact origin of our food. The funnel chanterelles have been picked next to Mäyränkallio, the milk-caps in our mushroom salad from Ruokovuori. The moose has been hunted at Kalkkivuori and the Jerusalem artichokes grow in the herb gardens of Satoranta.
The flavours of the potatoes come from the sandy soils of Tuittula and the strawberries from the fields of Kyllönjoki.
The delicacies of Iloranta can also be found outside the dining rooms. You can enjoy treats such as campfire stick buns or pancakes. In our barn, we host festive dinners, and there are several different themes that center around food, such as autumnal harvest feasts or Niskavuori dinners that have their origins in the history of Iloranta.
