The Barn Dinner at Iloranta is a special shared experience
The oldest buildings in the Iloranta estate grounds date back to the era when the village of Rukkoila thrived on fishing and crayfish harvesting. The blackened beams of the old barn have borne witness to the lives of the manor’s residents over the past two centuries. The “golden years” of the drying and threshing barn date back to over a century ago. This was the time when the stoves in the barn were used daily all autumn long to dry the harvest.
Stepping through the barn courtyard, guests are transported into a bygone era, where the fragrant food beckons them to enter the space beneath the lofty trusses. Softly illuminating lanterns on the walls and tall candelabras along the long tables create a unique ambiance. An unforgettable cuisine enjoyment is ready to begin!
The dinner lasts approximately 2.5 hours, according to the guests’ schedule. After the Barn Dinner, it is possible to stay overnight at Iloranta. Sauna bathing in the wood-fired lakeside sauna or smoke sauna can also be combined with the Barn Dinner experience. Iloranta barn is also available for private events – for example weddings and parties.
